What Information We Collect
When you book a reading, purchase an event ticket, or contact me through this website, I may collect:
Contact information you provide directly, such as your name and email address
Payment information, which is processed securely by Stripe. I do not collect, view, or store your full credit card number or banking details — Stripe handles that directly.
Session content, meaning anything you share with me during a reading or session (see the Confidentiality section below)
Email address, if you sign up to receive emails from me, via a third-party email marketing platform
This site does not currently use analytics or tracking tools beyond what Squarespace, my website host, includes by default to operate the site (such as basic technical logs).
How We Use Your Information
I use the information you provide to:
Schedule and deliver your reading or event
Process payment through Stripe
Respond to questions or requests you send me
Send you emails, if you've signed up to receive them — such as event announcements, updates, or content related to my offerings
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link included in each email, or by contacting me directly. In accordance with U.S. law (CAN-SPAM), marketing emails will include a way to unsubscribe and my business mailing address: 500 W Cedar Ave, Denver, CO 80223.
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Confidential Information
By providing Confidential Information to me, you grant permission for me to use and store that information for the purposes described above. I use my best efforts to keep your Confidential Information safe, secure, and confidential, and take precautions to protect it, both online and offline. As stated in my Disclaimer, anything you share with me during a reading or session is confidential and will not be shared with outside sources without your permission, except where disclosure is required by law or where I believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm to you or someone else.
However, due to the nature of the internet, I cannot completely ensure or warrant the security of your Confidential Information or any other data transmitted to me or through this site. Submitting Confidential Information is done at your own risk.
Your email address, if collected for marketing purposes, is stored with a third-party email service provider, which has its own privacy and security practices governing that data.
Your Choices and Rights
If you're a Colorado resident, applicable state privacy law may give you the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses of it. You may exercise these rights, or ask a general question about your data, at any time by contacting me at erica@ericaballard.co. I will respond to reasonable requests as promptly as I can, and you may appeal a denied request by contacting me directly.
Data Retention
I retain client and session information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain business records, and comply with any applicable legal obligations. If you'd like your information deleted sooner, contact me at erica@ericaballard.co and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.
Children's Privacy
This website and its services are intended for adults age 18 and older, in accordance with the eligibility requirements in the Disclaimer. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
A Note on Payment Scams
I will never ask for your credit card details, banking information, or PIN numbers by email, text, or any other method of correspondence, and I will never send you a payment link outside of the official booking process on this website. If you receive a message like this claiming to be from me, please don't respond, and reach out directly at erica@ericaballard.co to confirm.
Assumption of Risk
You agree that you are using your own judgment in engaging with my Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials, and that you are doing so at your own risk. My Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials are for informational and educational purposes only. You agree and understand that you assume all risks, and that no results are guaranteed in any way.
My Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials are meant to provide you with information and tools to help you make your own decisions for yourself. You are solely responsible for your actions, decisions, and results based on the use, misuse, or non-use of my Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials.
Liability
My Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials are for informational and educational purposes only.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I expressly exclude any liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage incurred by you or others in connection with my Programs, Products, Services, and Program Materials — including without limitation any liability for any accidents, delays, injuries, harm, loss, damage, death, lost profits, personal or business interruptions, misapplication of information, physical or mental disease, condition or issue, physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual injury or harm, loss of income or revenue, loss of business, loss of profits or contracts, anticipated savings, loss of data, loss of goodwill, wasted time, and for any other loss or damage of any kind, however caused and whether caused by negligence, breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.
You specifically acknowledge and agree that I am not liable for any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any other participant or user of my Programs, Products, Services, or Program Materials, including you.
